My name is Ross Kendall, and you have reached the site of West Coast Science Fiction. West Coast is bits of my own Science Fiction stories, as well as critical analysis on science fiction writing. You can find reviews and handy tips on researching, as well as basic tools of screenwriting. I write mostly movie scripts, and due to their size, I cannot post them here. Science Fiction is a form of literature that deals with human reaction to change in science and technology. The science in S.F. is broad, ranging from physics, astronomy and biology to more subtle forms such as sociology and philosophy. Paranormal phenomena can also fall into this category, provided it is handled rationally. Good science fiction combineds good fiction and good, rational science. You have to learn science, extrapolate it to a logical conclusion, and still have good plot and characters. It isn't always space battles and aliens (not that I have anything against them. It also has to be entertaining, and these subjects can be extremely interesting, provided they aren't cliche.) | |||||||||||||||||||||||
